Why GuruHat exists

Building things means wearing a lot of hats: planning your day, editing, debugging, trying to remember a keyboard shortcut you have used for twenty years. GuruHat collects the small tools made along the way. When something keeps getting in the way and a tool fixes it, that tool gets cleaned up, published here, and made free for everyone.

Each app does one job. There is no ecosystem to join, no account to create, and no monthly bill.

The apps

Open source and licensing

ClipHat and AI Meter are released under the MIT License, with source code for both the Mac and Windows versions on GitHub. PC Mode's source is also on GitHub. PriorityTab is distributed through the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons. Bug reports and pull requests are welcome on each repository.

Privacy

GuruHat apps have no accounts and no analytics. ClipHat's history is a local database on your device, and AI Meter talks only to the AI provider you already use. The website counts downloads without storing IP addresses. Read the full privacy policy.

Not to be confused with

GuruHat (one word) is a software project. It is not related to Gorur Haat, the cattle markets of Bangladesh and West Bengal sometimes spelled "Guru Hat", or to Tackle Guru fishing headwear and other "guru" sun hats.
